While on a trip to
Washington D.C., I met a graduation class from Quantico.
I thanked them for continuing the tradition of the United
States Marine Corps. The
statement was made by a 1st Lt. that “It would be an easy task” and thanked us
because it has been so well taken care of and left in such good shape.

- Our first hosting of Bingo
at the Illinois Veterans’ Home – Quincy was well-received, and all
detachment and auxiliary members who made the trip truly enjoyed
themselves. Check out the

- SHAWNEE
UNIT MCLA JOINS THE SHAGBARK GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD WINNERS AS
- "CALENDAR
GIRLS"
- Since
2003 the Shawnee Unit MCLA has purchased and presented Gold Award pins
to the girl scouts who have successfully earned the Gold Awards.
- IL
Department President and Shawnee Unit member, Sue Whitlock presented
certificates from the Department and assisted Donna Ketring, Shawnee
Unit member and co-leader and cookie manager for Shagbark Council Girl
Scouts in presenting the Gold Award pins.
- This
project has been one which the unit feels is money well spent on the
leaders of the future.
